12th
pre-congress
of Isfahan
School
Conference
titled,
"Safavid's
Literary
and
Artistic
Origins"
went
underway.
Reported
by the
Public
Relations
of the
Academy of
Arts,
quoted
from the
secretariat
of Isfahan
School,
the
congress
was held
on Monday,
November
27 at the
public
hall of
Ardabil
Province
Government.
The
session
was
attended
by Dr.
Mehrdād
Ahmadian,
the
director
of
International
Relations
of Isfahan
School
Conference;
Sajad
Barez-Zadeh,
the
general
director
of
Functional
and
Strategic
Researches
at the
Academy of
Arts; Mr.
Dastbaz,
the
general
director
of Social
and
Electoral
Affairs of
Ardabil
Province
Government;
Mr.
Shakiba,
the
general
director
of
Ministry
of Culture
and
Islamic
Guidance
in Ardabil
and a
number of
masters,
researchers
and
students.
At the
beginning
of this
scholarly
session,
Dastbaz as
the
representative
of Ardabil
Province
Government
expressed
his
pleasure
of holding
the
pre-congress
in Ardabil
and said:
"I
hope we
could have
been able
to take a
step to
achieve
the
objectives
of Isfahan
School
Grand
Conference
as a
scientific
and
cultural
movement
and from
now on, we
cooperate
more with
the
Academy of
Arts."
After
that, Mr.
Shakiba,
the
general
director
of
Ministry
of Culture
and
Islamic
Guidance
in Ardabil
province
said:
"Initially
this
scholarly
session
was
supposed
to be held
at one of
the
universities
of
Ardabil,
but it
didn't
happen. We
tried to
hold a
congress
to live up
with the
status of
Safavid
era. But
unfortunately
Ardabil
University
didn't
cooperate
and we had
to hold
the
session at
the public
hall of
Ardabil
Province
Government.
"The
session is
held to
aid us
find and
revive our
national
identity
and
prevent
the break
up of the
new
generation
of Iranian
people
from their
brilliant
culture
and
art,"
he added.
Following
the
session,
Dr. Mehrdād
Ahmadian,
the
director
of
International
Relations
of Isfahan
School
Conference
gave a
brief
account of
the
activities
done for
holding
Isfahan
School
Conference:
"Along
with the
activities
carried
out for
introducing
the
particular
variety
and
complexities
of Iranian
culture
and art
inside and
outside
the
country,
the
Academy of
Arts has
held a
number of
international
conferences.
The first
one went
underway
three
years ago
and titled
Kamal-e
Din Behzad
and the
next one
titled
Sultan
Muhammad,
but
Isfahan
School
Conference
is not
centered
around a
particular
artistic
figure,
rather it
observes a
period of
Iranian
history,
therefore
several
scholarly
sessions
have been
held in
the cities
which had
an
exceptional
significance
in Safavid
era,"
he said.
"The
significance
of Ardabil
province
in Safavid
era and
the
specific
features
of Sheikh
Safi
Mausoleum
led the
Academy of
Arts to
hold a
congress
there,"
Ahmadian
concluded.
In the
next part
of the
program,
Mitra Azad
a
university
teacher at
the
Cultural
Heritage
University
made a
speech on
"Architectural
Ornaments
of Sheikh
Safi-e
Din's
Boq'eh
[Domed
Mousoleum]"
and
complimented
her speech
with
projecting
pictures
of this
historical
site.
"The
architectural
ornaments
of Sheikh
Safi-e
Din's
Boq'eh
comprise
various
types of
Iranian
traditional
ornaments.
These
ornaments
include
five main
branches:
plaster
molding,
tile
works,
stony
ornaments,
vaulting
(moqarnas,
mosaic
work and
yazdi-bandi)
on doors
and
windows.
But here
the point
is that if
you become
familiar
with
Sheikh
Safi-e
Din's
Boq'eh,
you will
be
acquainted
with
Islamic
architecture.
As a
matter of
fact, the
architectural
ornaments
of this
historical
building
not only
represents
the
architecture
of Safavid
era, but
also
demonstrates
the
developments
of Iranian
Islamic
architecture
and
clearly
shows the
modifications
and
transformations
of various
architectural
ornaments,"
she
stated.
Next, Dr.
Azad
introduced
different
kinds of
architectural
ornaments
in Sheikh
Safi-e Din
Boq'ehand
and
concluded:
"After
Sultanyeh
Boq'eh,
Sheikh
Safi-e Din
Boq'eh can
be
considered
among one
of the
Iranian
global
heritages."
Following
the
program,
Hojat-ol
Islam Adel
Mola'ee
observed
the issue
of
"Safavid
Poetry
with
Approach
to
Azerbaijan."
He said:
"The
particular
sensitivity
toward
Safavid
era is
resulted
from the
fact that
Safavid
dynasty
was Shiite
and has
many
resemblances
with
Islamic
Republic
of Iran.
Consequently
it feels
necessary
to notice
and
research
the
culture,
arts and
even the
policy of
Safavid
era.
Nonetheless
we can see
that due
to some
enmities
from one
side and
the
negligence
from the
other
side, this
era has
been
mostly
ignored
and
there's
not enough
study to
understand
and
realize
it. It is
especially
true about
the poetry
and
literature
of this
era.
Safavid
poetry has
a rich
spiritual,
scientific,
artistic
and
mystical
background
which has
given some
special
features
to the
literature
of this
era and
has led to
the
creation
of several
masterpieces;
nevertheless
it has
always
been
neglected."
The next
lecturer
of the
session
was Ms.
Homa
Jedikar
who
elaborated
on
"Takam-Khani"
as a one
of the
original
and native
forms of
dramatic
arts in
Ardabil.
"In
my lecture
I try to
introduce
the origin
of one of
our native
arts and
indicate
to our
potentialities
and tell
you that
because of
modernity
we have
made a
huge gap
between
ourselves
and our
past
culture,"
she said.
"Takam-Khani
has a long
record and
its origin
has been
lost in
the
labyrinth
of
history,
but in
Safavid
era this
art
particularly
gained the
attention
of people
and even
the
religious
poems were
added to
it. Takam
means male
pioneer
goat. At a
ritual
assembly,
Takam is
made with
wood in
the form
of a bar
puppet and
it's
covered
with red,
yellow,
green
clothes
and
designed
with coin.
Takam is
the
special
puppet of
Norouz
(Iranian
New Year)
and
Takamchi's
(Takam
performers)
who go
down the
mountain
recitate
the poems
about
spring and
creation,"
she added.
"Takam
can be
studied in
the
category
of
dramatic
arts. Like
the other
dramas of
this kind,
Takam has
a very
simple
structure
and is so
in harmony
with
nature,"
she
concluded.
After the
remarks of
Jedikar, a
rural
Takamchi
gave a
live
performance
of this
native
drama.
Finally
the last
lecturer
of the
congress,
Dr. Mahdi
Harati
made a
speech on
"The
Embodiment
of
Artistic
and
Cultural
Heritage
in the
Mausoleum
of Sheikh
Safi-e Din
Ardabili."
He stated:
"I
want to
indicate
to a
heritage
which
Sheikh
Safi
complex
has been
entangled
with it
since long
time ago.
Sheikh
Safi is a
one of the
prominent
Iranian
mystics
who passed
away at
the age of
58 in
Ardabil.
Ardabil
(Artabil,
Artavil)
is an
ancient
word which
means 'the
city of
sun' and
'Aryan
city'. In
somewhere
else
Ardabil
has been
stood for
the roar
of
thrilled
elephant.
Due to the
presence
of great
Sheikhs
and its
geographicall
position
based at
the
outskirts
of
Sabalan,
Ardabil
has always
possessed
a heavenly
status and
its arts
has been
regarded
as sublime
and
inestimable."
