After
watching
several
documentary
films on
Isfahan
art and
architecture,
a group
of
experts
began to
evaluate
them and
other
works
made
about
the
city.
As the
Public
Relations
of
Aseman
Cultural-Artistic
Complex
reports,
the
secretary
of
cinema
and
deputy
of
Artistic
Affairs
and
International
Relations
at the
Academy
of Arts,
Muhammad-Mahdi
Haidarian
announced
the
foundation
of a
documentary
film
center
at the
academy.
The
upcoming
event
was
announced
during a
session
held at
Aseman
Cultural-Artistic
Complex
affiliated
to the
Academy
of Arts
on
Wednesday,
December
19. Also
Haidarian
remarked
on the
presence
of some
veteran
Iranian
documentarists
including
Muhammad-Reza
Aslani
and
Manouchehr
Tayab at
the
Academy
of Arts
and
their
forthcoming
co-operations.
He
indicated
to
preservation
of
Iranian
printed
and
recorded
heritage
as an
objective
of the
center:
"In
two
months
we will
consider
the ways
to
provide
a ground
for
preservation
of
documentary
films
and then
will
submit
several
proposals
to the
Council
of
Cultural
Revolution,"
he said.
Following
the
session,
Manouchehr
Tayab
criticized
the
present
condition
of
documentary
filmmaking
in the
country
and the
lack of
support
for
Iranian
documentarists:
"Our
younger
generation
of
documentary
filmmakers
is being
wasted
and
while
the
Association
of
Documentary
Filmmakers
has
Establish,
the
potential
customers
don't
refer to
the
association
for
ordering
their
works.
Another
Iranian
prominent
documentarist,
Kamran
Shirdel
expressed
his
sadness
on the
demise
of
Qafari,
an
Iranian
veteran
documentarist,
"We
should
not
suppose
that our
deceased
artists
are
simply
architects
or
painters,
there
are many
other
artists
in
various
fields
whom we
are
losing
and
having
been
forgotten,"
he said.
At the
other
part of
the
session,
Hamid
Sohaili
Mozafar,
documentarist
indicated
to his
works in
present
times
and
evaluated
the
mainstream
Iranian
documentaries:
"A
kind of
ennui is
depicted
in the
mainstream
documentaries,
but
regarding
the past
history,
we can
get
fascinating
issues
about
our
culture,"
he
noted.
The
secretary
of
Handicrafts
Department
at the
Academy
of Arts,
Abdol-Majid
Sharifzadeh
also
pointed
to the
problem
of
depicting
handicrafts
in
documentary
films:
"Unfortunately
nowadays
many who
order
documentaries
to
filmmakers
lack an
artistic
profound
view and
commitment
toward
documentary
filmmaking,"
he
stated.
The
chairman
of the
session,
Muhammad-Reza
Aslani
attributed
the
problem
to some
film
offices
which
don't
know
this art
and
those
who
refer to
clumsy
individuals
for
making
documentaries.
Next, an
architect
and
documentarist,
Muhammad-Ali
Najafi
analyzed
Isfahan
in the
view of
architecture
and
regarded
the
employed
forms
and
ornaments
in
historical
monuments
of the
city as
an
inculcation
of
eternity
concept.
The
films

were
screened
