Second
day of
Dramatic
Arts
Congress
of
Isfahan

Saba
Cultural-Artistic
Institute
hosted
the
second
day of
congress
on
Isfahan
School's
dramatic
arts. In
this
program
which
held at
the
cinematheque
of the
institute,
the
origins
of
Ta'zyeh
and
ritual
arts
were
considered.
As
reported
by the
Public
Relations
of the
Academy
of Arts,
at first
Qadiri
brothers
performed
Azeri
music.
Then a
puppet
theater
artist
and
faculty
member
of
Tehran
Academy
of Fine
Arts,
Homa
Jedikar
made a
speech
on
"Takem"
and
"Takem-Gardani"
and
discussed
about
its
ancient
origins.
A cinema
and
theater
researcher,
Rasoul
Nazarzadeh
presented
an essay
on
articulation
of words
in
"Shabih-Khani."
Following
the
session,
Ardeshir
Salehpour
raised
the
issue of
"Essences
and
Convents
in
Ta'zyeh
. He
discussed
on
symbols
of
Ta'zyeh
and
mentioned
"Takyeh-
Dolat"
as the
first
theater
house in
Iran.
Quoting
from
Michael
Focu,
Dr.
Abdol-Hussein
Laleh
indicated
to the
importance
of
ritual-traditional
dramas
and
talked
briefly
on
social-cultural
implications
of
Ta'zyeh.
The
session
was
carried
on in
the
afternoon
of
Monday,
December
11 at
the same
place
and
master
Reza
Khamse,
a
veteran
puppeteer
and his
crew
gave a
performance.
A
faculty
member
of
Tehran
Academy
of Fine
Arts,
Shiva
Mas'oudi
raised
an issue
titled,
"The
Magical
Secret
of
Puppet."
She
briefly
accounted
for the
social-political
situation
of
Safavids
court
and
their
approach
to
culture
and
literature.
She
regarded
the role
played
by
puppeteers
at those
times as
important
and
influential.
Reza
kouchakzadeh
lectured
on
"Baqal-Bazi,
as the
First
Instance
of
Iranian
Jubilant
Drama".
He also
recalled
Mirza
Aqa
Tabrizi
as one
of the
first
Iranian
playwriters,
and
pointed
to
Malhoon-Khan,
another
Iranian
play
writer
who was
the
source
of
inspiration
for
Mirza
Aqa
Tarizi.
The
title of
a speech
made by
Amir-kavous
Balazadeh
was
"The
Locale
of
Ta'zyeh,
the
Center
of the
world."
He
indicated
to
bravery
of Imam
Hussein
(s) as a
devoted
saint
who
disregarded
the
material
world.
He
regarded
Karbala
as a
center
which
defines
Ta'zyeh
drama
and
mentioned
interesting
points
on the
events
and
tales of
Karbala.
Finally,
Dr.
Naqmeh
Samini
considered
the
narrative
systems
of
Ta'zyeh
played
and
described
the
roles of
narrator
and
narrative
in this
genre of
drama. |
