The
first
pre-congress
of
Isfahan
Conference
entitled,
“The
Passage
from
Qazvin
Cultural-Artistic
School
to
Isfahan”
was held
in
Qazvin
on
August
24 to
welcome
the
forthcoming
International
Conference
of
Isfahan
School.

Reported
by the
public
relations
of the
Academy
of Arts,
the
pre-congress
was held
in the
hall of
congress
in
Qazvin
Public
Library
with two
sessions
(morning
and
afternoon).
The
scholars
in
various
cultural-
artistic
fields
made
speeches
and
presented
their
articles.
The
General
Director
of
Ministry
of
Culture
and
Islamic
Guidance
Organization
in
Qazvin,
Muhammad-Hussein
Shafi’eeha;
the
Secretary
of the
Academy
of Arts,
Dr.
Bahman
Namvar
Motlaq
and nine
other
lecturers
made
their
speeches
in this
pre-congress.
First,
Muhammad-Hussein
Shafi’eeha,
the
Secretary
of the
Pre-congress
lectured
on the
scientific
and
literary
prominent
figures
of
Qazvin
and
indicated
to the
cultural
artistic
richness
of the
city
particularly
in
Safavid
era,
when
Qazvin
appointed
as the
capital
of Iran.

The
next
lecturer,
Dr.
Bahman
Namvar
Motlaq
accounted
for the
Academy
of Arts
objectives
for the
pre-congress
and
introducing
the
Iranian
artists
in
Safavid
era.
In part
of his
speech,
Dr.
Namvar
Motlaq
said,
“there
are more
than
twenty
pre-congresses
and
nearly
fifty
other
programs
are
planned
aiming
to carry
out a
comprehensive
research
on the
artists
in
Safavid
eras and
direct
the
attention
of
public
to
them.”
Then,
Dr.
Mehrangiz
Mazaheri
lectured
on
“introducing
the
superior
and
prominent
architectural
works in
Qazvin.”
In his
speech,
the next
lecturer
Dr.
Ehsan
Eshraqi
indicated
to the
poems of
Abdi
Baig
Navidi,
a
prominent
Qazvini
Poet and
explained;
“the
prominent
architectural
and
artistic
works of
Qazvin
have a
high
status
in the
poems of
Abdi
Baig,
and by
reading
his
poems,
we can
be
acquainted
with
wall
paintings
in
Safavid
period.

Then,
master
Anvar
made a
speech
on
“Farabi
Music
and
Comparisons
with
Safavid
era”.
To
account
better
for this
specific
issue,
he
employed
projected
film and
slides.
The
morning
session
of the
pre-congress
wrapped
up with
two
other
lectures
by Dr.
Muhammad-Ali
Rajabi
and
Touraj
Zhouleh
who made
speeches
respectively
on
“The
Comparative
Study of
Qazvin
School
Motifs
with
other
Schools”
and
“Presumptions
about
the
Ancient
Carpet
of
Qazvin.”
Among
the
peripheral
programs
of the
morning
session
was a
documentary
film
called
the Son
about
Hussein
Shrine
and the
performance
of
traditional
music.
Notably,
Seyed
Ahmad
Nosrati,
Province
Governor
and the
Director
of
Qazvin
Cultural
heritage
Organization
attended
the
morning
session.

The
afternoon
session
of
pre-congress
“The
Passage
from
Qazvin
Cultural-Artistic
School
to
Isfahan”
began on
5 p.m.
with the
lecture
of
Mehrzad
Mohases,
the
Director
of
Qazvin
Association
of
Calligraphers
on
“Qazvin,
the
Origin
of
Isfahan’s
Calligraphers
School.”
Dr.
Mehrangiz
Mazaheri
was the
second
lecturer
of the
afternoon
session
and
presented
a
comprehensive
article
on the
study of
Chehel
sutun
Palace
in
Qazvin.
In a
part of
her
article
she
said,
“despite
the idea
of
orientalists
who
attributed
the
architecture
of
Qazvin’s
Chehel
sutun to
Turks,
there’s
no
scientific
evidence
to prove
that,
because
even
before
Chehelsotoon
Palace,
we had
such
architectural
styles.”
The
Executive
Director
and the
secretary
of
Handicrafts
Department,
Hasan
Yusefi
gave the
third
lecture
of this
session
and
presented
a
comparative
study of
Sadeqi
Baik
Afshar
of
Qazvin
school
and Reza
Abbasi’s
works.
In his
article,
he
regarded
Sadeqi
Baik
Afshar
as a
pioneer
and the
master
of Reza
Abbasi
and
emphasized
his
claims
with
displaying
some
photos
of Reza
Abbassi’s
work
influenced
by
Sadeqi
Baik
Afshar,
while
explaining
the
similarities
of their
works.
Other
lecturers
included
Dr.
Mansour
Hesami,
assistant
professor
of
Painting
Department
at
Al-zahra
University
and Dr.
Hussein
Maisami
who
considered
respectively
the
works of
Muhammadi
Heravi
in the
development
of
Iranian
music in
10th
A.H.
A
documentary
film,
Caravanserais
and the
performance
of
traditional
music
were
among
the
peripheral
programs
of the
afternoon
session.
In the
interval
between
the
morning
and
afternoon
sessions,
the
members
of the
Academy
of Arts
visited
the
historical
sites of
Qazvin
like
Masjid-e
Jami
Qazvin,
Husseinyeh
Amini,
Chehel
sutun
Palace
and
other
ancient
places.
