The Isfahan School Conference Will Consider the Music in Safavid Era

The Secretary of Music Department of the Isfahan School Conference, Fariba Afkari pointed out, “unfortunately the sources of written profound researches on the music of Safavid Era are rare and the remained scholarly works are limited to some amendments on a number of pamphlets and manuscripts.”
 

She followed, “the music of Safavid Era is observable in terms of the introduction of the first European musical instruments to Safavid court, also in the view of religious music or Tazia, etc.”

For Afkari the holding of the Grand Isfahan School Conference and specialized look to the art and literature of Safavid Era is a major step toward the recognition and consideration of various aspects of arts in this era. “For more utilization of the scholarly capabilities in respect to the music of Safavid Era, last week the music department held a joint session in the presence of Isfahani meastros, academics and scholars,” she said.

The Secretary of Music Department of Isfahan School regarded such joint expert sessions as an appropriate way for initiating cooperation among the artists and scholars and said, “in this last session, the proposed discussions for presenting articles and doing researches included: the interdisciplinary relation of music and sociology, music and anthropology, and musical tonality in the tazias of Safavid Era

It must be pointed out that the secretariat of the Grand Isfahan School Conference is prepared to receive articles of experts and scholars in eight various artistic and literary fields by the middle of Mehr (October 15).
