The
president
of the
Academy
of Arts,
Eng.
Mir-Hussein
Mousavi
in his
joint
session
with the
secretary
general,
scholarly
and
policy
making
council
members
of the
Isfahan
School
Conference
stated:
"Safavid
era has
granted
us a
magnificent
heritage
not just
in
cultural
and
artistic
terms,
but
considering
this
heritage
and in
fact our
introspection
is
absolutely
vital
and
essential
with
regard
to
politics
and
national
solidarity."
He
regarded
the
tasks
accomplished
for
holding
the
Isfahan
School
Grand
Conference
as a
significant
step to
retrieve
Iranian
cultural
heritage.
"Safavid
governments
made the
first
efforts
to
constitute
a
national
government
in Iran.
Indeed
after
hundreds
of years
we can
see that
the
great
Iranian
civilization
and
traditions
were
juxtaposed,
that's
why we
witness
the
creation
of many
artistic
works:
caravansaries,
mosques,
squares,
streets,
and
specific
artworks
created
in the
city
textures
of
Safavid
era are
unique
in
Iran's
history."
Mousavi
said.
"In
that era
we
confront
an
extrovert
culture
which
attempts
to
communicate
with
outside
world
resulting
to a
remarkable
influence
on the
culture
and art
of this
historical
period.
Consequently,
the
Safavid
era has
the
highest
status
in
Iran's
historical
periods
in terms
of the
quantity
and
quality
of
artworks,"
he
followed
and
indicated
to
another
particular
significance
of
Safavid
era.
The
president
of the
Academy
of Arts
pointed
to the
specific
atmosphere
of
Safavid
era
which
resulted
to the
formation
of
artists
and
magnificent
artistic
ranks
and saw
it as
one of
the
major
reasons
for the
special
attention
that
this
historical
period
demands.
"In
my view
the
tradition
and art
of
Safavid
era are
still
part of
our
social
and
political
life,
therefore
the
consideration
of this
period
has a
specific
importance.
On the
other
hand,
one of
the main
agendas
of the
Academy
of Arts
is to
remove
the
dissociations
between
our
contemporary
culture
and our
ancient
rich
traditions.
The
holding
of the
Isfahan
School
Conference
will
extensively
facilitate
the
removal
of these
dissociations.
At the
end of
the
session
Eng. Mir
Hussein
Mousavi
expressed
hope
that
with the
help of
the
masters,
scholars
and
artists,
the
Isfahan
School
Conference
gains
the
adequate
and
influential
achievements
and
follows
the
activities
of the
Academy
of Arts.
It
must be
pointed
out that
scholarly
secretaries
and
members
of the
policy
making
council
of the
Isfahan
School
Conference
presented
the
reports
of their
activities
before
the
president
of the
Academy
of Arts
began
his
remarks.
Among
the
masters
and
cultural
figures
were
Abdollah
Anvar,
Mahmoud
Eftekhari,
Jalil
Tajlil,
Mahmoud
Azizi,
Houshang
Gazizadeh,
Morteza
Bekhradi,
Mahdi
Imami
Jom'eh,
Manouchehr
Daneshpazhouh,
etc.
