The
secretary
of the
Academy
of Arts
regarded
the
holding
of
Isfahan
School
Conference
as the
result
of two
successive
years'
efforts
made by
various
institutes.
At the
opening
ceremony
of
Isfahan
School
Conference
held in
the
morning
(9 A.M.)
at
Aseman
Cultural-Artistic
Complex
of the
Academy
of Arts,
Dr.
Bahman
Namvar
Motlaq
accounted
for the
project
of
Isfahan
School
Conference:
"According
to its
constitution,
the
Academy
of Arts
in
parallel
with
regular
tasks
such as
holding
various
exhibitions
is also
involved
in
research
projects
and
organizing
conferences.
These
activities
are
increasingly
underway
each
year.
After
the
congresses
of Herat
and
Tabriz
painting
schools,
we
considered
Isfahan
School
Conference
and
started
programming."
He added
that the
selection
of
Isfahan
as the
capital
of
Islamic
world by
ISESCO
was
another
motive
for
paying
attention
to hold
such
conference
and
observe
different
branches
of
Isfahan
School
in the
framework
of a
conference:
"ISESCO
appointed
Isfahan
as the
capital
of
Islamic
world
and this
point
encouraged
us to
consider
different
branches
of
Isfahan
School
as a
conference."
Regarding
the
Safavid
art as
one of
the
characteristics
of that
era,
Namvar
Motlaq
stated:
"A
main
feature
of
Safavid
era is a
specific
art
which
comprises
of
Tabriz
school
as the
first
section
and
Isfahan
School
as the
second
one.
During
two
years,
eight
departments
with
eight
secretaries
were the
center
of
scholarly
decisions
for the
conference."
The
secretary
of
Isfahan
School
Conference
pointed
out some
tasks
accomplished
during
this
time.
"The
call for
the
conference,
appointment
and
assignment
of
experts
for
writing
and
translating
the
essays
and
books,
the
arrangement
of
pre-congresses,
the
publishing
of more
than
thirty
expert
books,
the
holding
of five
exhibitions
in
Golestan
Palace,
Moqadam
Museum,
Malek
and Reza
Abbasi
foundations
for
introducing
the
artworks
of
safavid
era and
co-operations
with
more
than 50
scientific
and art
institutes
throughout
the
world
are
among
the
tasks
fulfilled
by the
executive
members
of the
conference.
Art Is
not
Detached
from
Mysticism
Following
the
session,
Zia-al
Din
Imami,
the
first
graduate
of
Isfahan
Academy
of Fine
Arts in
miniature
and
inheritor
of
Isfahan
School
indicated
that
Isfahan
has
always
been a
center
for
Iranian
arts. He
pointed
out that
it's
impossible
to
percept
art
without
realizing
God's
nature:
"Without
realizing
God's
nature
art
can't be
objectified.
Although
there
are
differences
between
scientists
on the
ways of
knowing
God,
some of
them
believe
that
it's
impossible
to know
God and
some
believe
that
through
studying
divine
books,
the
suspended
planets
and
stars
with no
pillar,
creatures
and
finally
human
being,
we can
achieve
such
knowledge,"
he
remarked.
Commenting
on the
characteristics
of
Isfahan
School,
Imami
added:
"Isfahan
School
begins
with
Safavid
era,
when
Tabriz
and
Shiraz
schools
had been
established
and
during
the
kingdom
of Shah
Abbas,
reza
Abbasi
embarked
on
drawing
the
miniatures
of
Safavids
palaces.
Meanwhile
a number
of great
scholars
like
Mir-
Fendereski,
Moqadas
Ardabili,
Sheikh
Baha'ei
… were
living."
The
other
programs
of
opening
ceremony
included:
"Pardeh-Khani
directed
by
Mahmoud
Azizi,
the duet
of
maestro
Kiani
and
maestro
tala'ei
and
finally
Manqabat-Khani
wrapped
up the
programs.
Isfahan
School
Conference
